did you mute it? Take a look at your Control Panel\System and Maintenance\Windows Update. click on the update history, see what was recently installed. Some people have had problems with sound after updates have been installed.

Also take a look at your sound in the control panel, Control Panel\Hardware and Sound, and click on adjust sound. Does it have a green check mark saying working under the speaker/headphone section.

    Re: No sound

the last update was installed about a week before the sound went so i doubt it was that, and everything has mute turned off so i should have sound is it worth using system restore to a point before the sound stopped working?

did you blow out your speakers? take a look at this and mess around with enabling some of the hidden devices, Audio Device - Enable Hidden Devices. IDK if it worth the restore that would be your call.

ive tried out multiple speakers and no luck, not even headphones. i think i will use system restore as it doesnt remove personal files or anything
