where can I adjust the line in

I finally am ready to start recording LP's again. It worked great with my old XP machine. Now I have no input level when I open my Nero wave editor.
I don't know where to find an adjustment for audio line in within Vista.
does anyone have a suggestion?

Re: where can I adjust the line in

Hello MlHenri, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You should be able to right click on a empty spot on the desktop and click on Personalize, then click on Sounds. Next, click on the Recording tab, and double click on the device you wish to adjust the Properties and levels for. The one with the green check mark is your default device.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: where can I adjust the line in

Thanks for the info on the personalize sounds idea.
I find that I have no input level in windows sound recorder as well as nero wave editor. I did make sure that the input level was turned up. I just don't see what I am missing.

Re: where can I adjust the line in

I'm afraid that I not familiar with Nero's settings, but normally you should have a Levels tab in the Sound window. Do you have the latest audio drivers installed?

You might check this to see if may help by unhiding any hidden audio devices.

Re: where can I adjust the line in

i found the problem. I set the line in I was using as default in control panel.
I guess XP was automatic and Vista gives us more choices so we need to look a little further to find an answer. Thanks for your reply Brink

Mlhenri, I'm happy to hear that you found the problem. Is it working for you now to be able to adjust the levels?
