Vista - Help, music keeps on stuttering

Hmmm, thanks cwsault. I'll be checking this now. I'm using Zonealarm Extreme Security, but you never know...

It's extremely annoying having to boot into XP just to go online.

cwsault- thanks for the heads-up! It was ZoneAlarm.

It was one of my prime suspects, but I had eliminated it early on because shutting it down never made a difference. I'd shut off all the services and within 15 minutes the problem would be back. Now I realize that Forcefield kept turning back on whenever I connected to the internet. It was never really shut off.

I just uninstalled it and everything is fine. Time to find a new security suite... AGAIN. Such a shame, because ZA was always a favourite of mine.

I'm sorry to read about problems with music stuttering and online browsing. The only time I've noticed stuttering is with VLC player and others. However not with WMP11.

Has anyone taken a look at what codecs are on the system? Maybe, by chance, there's some sort of clash or incompatibility with certain codecs. Just a thought.

Maybe, try Autoruns? Autoruns for Windows
and look in the codec tab.

Thanks Cwsault, I am using Comodo, so great chance that's the issue. I now deinstalled it temporary, see what happens...
EDIT 29/7:
Indeed COMODO seemed to be the problem, as no stuttering occured since uninstalling it. Nice to have this solution, shame it took me hours to find the solution...
Comodo is to blam for such a huge bug wich is still unsoluted...
