| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: headphones plugged in notification not appearing The audio device in question (onboard or card) has to support headphone detection in the first place to get the notification. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: headphones plugged in notification not appearing You also need Realtek sound manager, but if it works I don't think you should worry about it. |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: headphones plugged in notification not appearing Hi k_sharma, Certain mini jack sockets have an additional contact that can sensed by the Motherboard when you insert a plug into the socket. This can be used as an example to switch off the main speakers when you plug into the socket. It may be that your Motherboard does not have this contact connected. It may also be that the signal is used to physically disconnect the speakers, as would be the case with non computer applications E.G. sound systems, but not setup to trigger the operating system If this is not physically present you will not get the pop-up as there will be no signal to be sensed. You may want to check the specification of your laptop because I have known of these being present but not activating due to mechanical failure. Hope this clarifies things |
