I'm having trouble recording sound from video games in Fraps with Vista & a X-Fi sound card.
I've tried so many combinations, I had no problems under WinXP, but i've recently upgraded to Vista. The only sound i can capture is through my mic.. but i want ingame sounds captured.
The main options..
In X-Fi control panel.. its either Mic or 'What you hear', there are others such as Line In, etc but afaik these are not relevant
In Vista Recording panel, either Mic or 'What you hear' (plus other non relevant ones)
In Fraps its either Detect Best Sound Input or Use Windows Input. Sound device is always 'Vista'.. And depending on what Windows is set to depends what you see in Fraps.
Can someone with the same set up please let me know their setting..i.e someone with Vista, X-Fi and Fraps... :D
I have enabled my onboard sound and was thinking about trying to use that.. but its not ideal, (not tried it yet)
