Help With Microphone Please

Hi there.

I was recently running Dragon Speaking Softwaree 10 on my Inspiron 530 through a headsetmic with no problmes.

Then I tried to use a Logitech USB Desktop Microphone. Computer says no.

Anyway, I have now reverted back to my original headset/microphone only to find that it is no longer recognised by the computer, even when plugged in. I have been to the Audio settings but no matter what I do I cannot get the computer to recognise that it is there.

Any suggestions please?

Tahnks,

M

Microphone Plugged in but not registering - help please

That's about it really...my headset mic just stopped working. It's plugged into the mic port but appears as 'not plugged in' in my line in/recording devices. Mic works fine on other computers.

Any ideas please?

Re: Help With Microphone Please

First are there any software installations with devices. If so, uninstall and reinstall software. Then check for latest updates of software form manufacture. Then check device manager for any driver issues. Fix as needed, usually some updates of drivers will fix problem. Also could be some ad ware spy ware or virus that has latched on. Run all of your ad ware, spy ware virus software. Then restart and go from there. Also some MS updates, patches can play havoc with usb devices as well. I had some problems with web cams after a couple of MS updates and patches as well. I had to uninstall software and reinstall and that fixed my issue.
