No modem sounds

    No modem sounds

    How do I hear modem sounds like dial tones and dialing beeps? My old XP system did this with no problem. Modem is a Motorola SM56 speakerphone so I should be able to hear sounds. Otherwise modem works ok.

    My modem makes no noise but I am not on dial up...

    If everything works OK I wouldn't worry too much about it

    Hi velo, it's a known issue.

    After you upgrade a Windows XP-based computer to Windows Vista, you may no longer hear the audio handshake when you use a dial-up modem
