Realtek HD - balloon says device unplugged - cutting audio constantly!

Hi there,
Ive been getting this problem for a while now, even after system restoring.
Whenever im running something that requires audio, eg. itunes, ventrilo, youtube video etc a balloon will pop up from 'Realtek HD audio manager' saying a device (my headphones) has been unplugged, it will then say the device has been plugged in again.

It cuts the audio for about a second (very frustrating) and if i am in game, will make me lag also.

It seems to occur more frequently when i am in vent and in game, if more than 2-3 people talk at once it will happen definately.

I have tried reinstalling directX10, playing around inside the Realtek HD audio manager.. but to no prevail.

Where is the problem? What can i do to resolve this?

Thanks, anyone who bothers to read this

Re: Realtek HD - balloon says device unplugged - cutting audio constantly!

Hi Woody,

Welcome to the forum,

Check all of your plugs to make sure that they are not damaged or worn, if possible change the cables completely and try another Headset.

Try disabling all of the devices that you are not using (Realtek HD audio manager)
If you right click on one of the devices you will have the option to "show disconnected devices" make sure there is a tick in the box so that these devices will show up.
This might make it easier to troubleshoot.

You gave the example of Headphones as the device that is unplugged if this is the actual case, then start with the headset.

I hope this helps

FIX? Realtek HD popup - balloon says device unplugged - cutting audio constantly!

I think i have a fix and want to share

when u open the realtek manager,
on the top right corner it says ADVANCED SETTINGS
or in my dutch version "geavanceerde apparaatinstellingen"

right under that tekst link is a small easy to miss yellow folder icon...

when u klick that, u can NUKE the detection on your front panel..

my popups are already gone for at least 10 minutes now

i hope this helps anyone... let me know

Greetings
P. Thecandyjar.
