ClearChat comfort USB not detected

Hi guys, long time reader first time poster

Now I've been having a weird issue with my ClearChat Comfort USB microphone and I've been asking both Logitech and Microsoft for support. So far, Logitech claims it's Microsoft's problem and Microsoft.... well anyway

I plug my microphone (Certified for Windows Vista) and nothing happens... I mean, there's nothing even in Device Manager. Now there are no drivers for this microphone and I haven't found any hotfix. I thought it was because of Vista 64x but I tried on my laptop using Vista 32 home edition and got the same issue. It worked well on my laptop before Vista Service Pack came out.

Oh and yes, I have the latest version of all~ drivers

Some info :

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00G/1333/6M/S775
Motherboard : S775 ASUS P5Q SE P45 PCIE
Graphic Card : Geforce 9800 GTX+ DK 512MB
RAM : Kingston DDR2 4 gig

Using Windows Vista Home Edition Premium 64x, and tried on 32x

Hi delawynn,

Welcome to the forum.

Plug in your Headset and right click on the speaker symbol in the notification area, select playback devices. A new window will open and should look like this..see attached (where I have kopfhörer you should have headset)

Let me know please

Thanks for the quick answer

Here's what I have in playback device. Looks like the USB headset is not detected. Tried with a USB gamepad and a Ipod, both were detected.

Strange!! have you tried all of your ports? sometimes they are awkward to say the least.

I am no expert with USB headsets but I will see what I can come up with

As a start I think it could possibly be some sort of conflict but that is as far as I get

One after thought right click on haut-parleurs and make sure there is a tick in the box for show disabled devices, should your Hedset show up try to enable it and then set as default.

Re: ClearChat comfort USB not detected

all ports are working fine.
USB headset was working fine on my laptop until I installed Vista Service Pack 1.
I'll try contacting Microsoft again.

Yep, and Show Disabled Devices was already on. Still nothing.
Sending a request at Microsoft for support.

Headset used to work fine with my laptop before Vista Service Pack 1. Gonna ask them if they can send me a hotfix or something like that.

I'll give some news later

Re: ClearChat comfort USB not detected

Tested and so far nothing.

EDIT : Some news. so far microsoft has been sending me some hotfix and well... none of them worked. Last thing they asked me was to uninstall Service Pack 1, something I won't be doing.
