| Vista Home Premium 32 bit | System Config - services - audio off Hi all, I'm a bit of a luddite but i've been trying to get less services to start when i start my computer and thus Vista, and have inadvertantly now turned off my audio services (remarkably, even after turning off loads of other things, this seems to be the only thing that has changed). I can't tell from my active services list (after doing msconfig) which one is affecting my audio. I've made sure the obvious ones are still ticked, of course. Is there anyone who could give me an idea of which one should be ticked in order for the audio service to come back on? I'm loathe to start them all back up again to try and find out... I would be so grateful ![]() Thanks, Polly |

| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: System Config - services - audio off Hi Polly and welcome to Vista Forums ![]() Have you ensured that the highlighted services (Windows Audio Endpoint Builder and Windows Audio) are enabled? ![]() In addition, check that the following services are also enabled: Multimedia Class Scheduler, Remote Procedure Call (RPC), DCOM Server Process Launcher, Plug and Play. Follow the instructions in this Tutorial: Services and set all of the above services to Automatic. Last edited by Dwarf; 01-11-2009 at 01:44 PM.. |

It seems that I was adding these whilst you were replying. For detailed instructions on which services to disable and which to leave enabled, see the relevant Black Viper page (link given in the Tutorial). |
