Hi, I'm new to the forum but I thought I'd get my problem out here to see if someone can help me. It used to work for me before I reformated my computer.
MB= Intel G965 With LPT Port
CPU= Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
using integrated audio
only pci slot used is Video Card (but in a PCIe slot)
Gateway gt5636e
(with ATI Radeon HD 3650, 2 extra HD's)
My problem is that there is no sound. Updated Drivers are installed and working. I can't play a test tone even. However, Driver Software Installation automatically pops up and tries to find a driver for PCI Simple Communications Controller but always fails when I hit automatic. It's almost like vista thinks their is a sound card in the pci slot. I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit. I've tried disabling Integrated Audio in bios and then reinstalling Drivers then enabling the sound again but to no avail. My next option is to wipe the OS, which I don't want to do. Please help.
