| Vista Home Premium 32bit | speakers/ Vista compatible? I have just helped a friend to install Vista (64 bit) on a new computer . She previously had windows XP Home. Everything is working fine except for the sound which, even though I have put it to maximum is practically inaudible. Is it possible that she needs new speakers? the ones she has look very elderly! I have checked that they are plugged in ok and enabled. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: speakers/ Vista compatible? The physical speakers has nothing to do with the upgrade to Vista just as switching gas has nothing to do with tires. What might be happening is that the audio drivers need to be updated. You'll have to find the 64-bit audio drivers for her soundcard. |

| Vista Ultimate 64 | Re: speakers/ Vista compatible? I agree, sounds more like a sound card issue which is the exact problem I just had this week. I ended up buying a new sound card that works with Vista 64. New drivers did not do anything for the problem that I was experiencing and from what I understand the driver problems are on purpose from Creative. So I opted to stop buying their products on purpose. Newegg.com - HT OMEGA Claro Halo 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card w/ a built-in HI-FI Headphone Amplifier - Sound Cards Should get it Monday. |

| Vista Ultimate 64 | Re: speakers/ Vista compatible? I will let you know on Monday or Tuesday. I did research it quite a bit before ordering it and everything I read about it put this card substantially better than any Creative card out right now. And its about the same price. I haven't seen anyone running Vista 64/32 that says they have any problems with it. Spec wise it is considerably better. But I shall see next week. |
