Winamp 5 and Vista x64 subwoofer problem

Hello!

I'm having the all known problem of Winamp playing only 2.0 instead of 2.1 or 5.1 sound.

The hardware in question is:
- ADI® AD1988B 8-channel High Definition Audio (onboard ASUS P5B-Deluxe)
- Windows Vista Business x64
- Genius SW-HF5.1 5005 5.1 speakers (http://tinyurl.com/23z8nf)

I'm using the latest ADI drivers, inside SoundMAX controls the setup is set to 5.1, in Windows Sound also. Test work fine (*ding* sound on each speaker including the woofer).
5.1 works in games (like Fallout 3) without a problem, on DVDs also...

...but it just refuses to work in Winamp/WMP or any other audio player. I've tried enabling/disabling hardware acceleration to no avail. ony front left and right speakers work (2.0) but I want 2.1 sound (front, left+woofer).

Is there ANY way for this to be done? From the things I've read this is a known problem in Windows x64 because of the lack of HAL for audio so everything goes through software.
