Currently work abroad so i bought a gaming notebook(Sager NP9262) for traveling around. Anyhow i bought a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Express Notebook soundcard. The sound quality is really good when it is not crackling and popping like crazy. I have tried uninstalling the card itself, done a complete reinstall of Vista and no change. I have even tried the new Beta drivers on the Creative website no dice. This laptop rarely every gets maxed out but even at no load at all still getting the crackling noise. Just listening to winamp, itunes, or whatever i still get the crackling sounds. I have exhuasted my resources as to try to figure out what is wrong. So hoping someone could give me so help anything at this point is appreciated. Hate o put a duplicate thread up here since it seems that alot of people are haiving this issue but i am using a laptop and swapping out cards while easy is very limited for me.

Hi Padege, Welcome to the Forum.

You have pretty much covered it yourself, try other drivers, if possible take the card back for another
