RealTek Audio Chip

Hi there,

7 may 2009: My notebook recommended me to download the latest driver of NVIDIA. I had to go the following site: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers. So I went to the wedsite and I downloaded a new driver. After I installed it, I had to restart my notebook. So I did it. But when I was at my frontpage, the error following error appeared: Notification Tool for the RealTek Audio Chip is stop working again. We're looking for a solution. But it couldn't find any solutions. So, can someone help me to solve this problem & what is 'RealTek Audio Chip'? BTW: I also reïnstalled the driver, but the same problem appeared >.<

Re: RealTek Audio Chip

Hello Hung, and welcome to Vista Forums.

What is the model number for your Acer notebook? This way we can look up your computer's specs to make sure that we can recommend the correct drivers for it.

Re: RealTek Audio Chip

Ok Hung,

Laptops will sometimes require specific drivers for that model. This is a link to Acer for you all drivers for you notebook. You will just need to select Notebook, Aspire, and Aspire 6935G to see them. Installing the driver for Audio should help.

Service & Support

Hope this helps,

Re: RealTek Audio Chip

Oke, but if I downloaded it, it's a wordpad document. Do you know how I can change it into a setup or something like that?

Re: RealTek Audio Chip

You would need to select the Driver tab instead of Document tab above the listed downloads instead before downloading it.

After saving the ZIP file, you will just need to extract the driver files from the ZIP file to see them.

Re: RealTek Audio Chip

It's not working, to download the setup instead of a document

If you don't believe me, just watch those pictures:

Ooh, as you can see, I'm from Holland. So, I have a Dutch version of Firefox and my English is bad + I selected the tab Driver.

Re: RealTek Audio Chip

It looks like you have it being saved somewhere else. Give it a try in Internet Explorer to see if that helps. After I saved the ZIP download and extracted the files in it, I see the setup file.

Re: RealTek Audio Chip

I (think that I) removed all files. And guess... it's still a wordpad document. As you can see, the wordpad is standard for opening things that I download . Perhaps, do you know how I can change that?

Re: RealTek Audio Chip

If it opens WordPad when you try to open the ZIP file, then merge the REG file in this tutorial below to restore the built-in ZIP assocations in Vista. Afterwards see if you can open and extract the files like you see in my second image above.
