I wrote a couple of days ago about stuttering sound, and how it would kill my FPS in Bioshock or any other games. I looked in my system info and saw this:
Shouldn't make any difference. One thing I can think of, you don't have any of the audio settings in your games set to hardware do you? If so set it to software and see if that fixes it.
I use Linksys/Cisco WUSB600N ... (USB wireless -N adapter) and have no issues.
I would try Uninstalling the Audio Drivers and reinstalling.
Also check your Game Settings.
Goto Device Manager take a look for problems too.
You maybe able to Change Wireless Frequency from 2.4GHz to 5GHz via modem/router since it could be causing interference.
Keep Cordless or Cellular Phones away from the PC as could possible cause interference.
Make sure you have the latest game patches and/or drivers for both Video and Audio cards. If integrated with Motherboard ..check with Mobo manufacturer and get the correct one for your Operating System , such as Vista, WinXP and proper
Bit as 64 or 32.
The reason I believe my problem to be IRQ related is because my audio stuttering goes beyond gaming and into simple video playback (youtube). I get stuttering even on a low quality video.
I will uninstall my audio drivers, and re-install them when i get out of work. I will let you all know if that has solved my problem.
