Hello tlittle86,
Have you tried a system restore to a point before the sound went ?, if that does not work dont worry, you can alway's get the driver's from the maker's site. Do you know who's sound card it is ?, chance's are it's realtek, or soundmax, anyway try the restore and post your result's good luck.

Ok, no prob's, we need to get some more info,
on desktop right click my computer,
click on properties,
click on device manager,
first, are there any yellow question marks ?,
on "sound, video and game controllers" click on the +,
what is listed there ?

next, go to control panel and open sound, you should see sonething like this,

19-06-2009 11-11-15 control playback.png

What is listed there ?,
last of all we need to know the model of sound card you have, sigma tel make an awful lot of sound device's, so a model/type will help us find the correct driver.

Code 10 is driver related. First un-install all your sound drivers, you may want to clean up your registry, download Ccleaner, (it's free, link below) and clean the registry, BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY WHEN PROMPTED. follow the Realtek link and download these sound drivers, tick the box and press next, they are the top one's "vista/windows 7". Install these and post back.

Did you fix it?

I think that either the audio card or its driver is damaged. Uninstall it and reboot. You have probably tested this already. Next is uninstall, run Driver Sweeper and re-install a new driver from Realtek homepage. Next is remove sound card, uninstall, run Driver Sweeper and reboot, shut down and then put card back and start again.
