Logitech Z-10 Speaker Question

I was given a pair of Logitech Z-10 USB Speakers. I'm running Vista 64.
I've never seen a USB speaker system....Not sure how they work.

Will I have problems with these speakers? Will they use my sound card? Do they put a heavier load on the CPU than a sound card?

I've downloaded the latest 64bit drivers, but they are dated '07, so I'm not sure if I want to try these.

Comments welcomed.

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Logitech Z-10 Speaker Question

I had those speakers and sent them back as i wasnt happy with the sound quality, looks, touch screen etc. They are easy to install though, you just install the software then reboot then connect up the speakers to the pc and plug it in and thats it.

As for the sound card questions iv no idea as i didnt have a sound card at the time

Re: Logitech Z-10 Speaker Question

Most of the reviews I read point out the touchy controls.
That's why they were given to me, the controls were touchy.
I'll try them and see.
I guess the "sound card" is buit into the speakers.

Re: Logitech Z-10 Speaker Question

The speakers sound fantastic for 2.0 stereo! But they have either a loose solder joint or noisey chip. I suspect something in the touch-control intertface. Oh well, they were free.......

Re: Logitech Z-10 Speaker Question

Yeah i would have kept mine if they were free but i think payed around £70 so i sent them back.

But they are decent speakers for 2.0.
