creative xtreme gamer problems

so i just got this new sound card. i installed it and disabled the integrated hd sound in the bios. my computer says the sound is working on the icon on the bottom left but the sound isn't actually playing on my speakers. please help

did you replug your cables? (unplug em from your motherboard's audio jacks and plugged em into your soundcard's audio jacks)

if you are using a frontpannel I/O module, did you remember to rewire the (internal) cables from your motherboard's connector(s) onto your soundcard's connectors?

Disabling your HD sound in bios doesn't necessary make it so your soundcard will work.
Check windows device manager and see what shows up there.
If you disabled your integrated HD sound in bios it should not show up in that list anymore. Check if your soundcard shows up and wether it shows as enabled/installed etc.

Did you install the drivers from the cd?
