No Audio Output Device is Installed pelase help

I have an Acer Aspire 4330. Built in speakers. Realtek High Definition Audio sound card. I have Vista Home Basic. SP2. This problem has persisted for about a month and a half now, and I would love to hear sound again. Sound is so beautiful lol. PLEASE help me, I'm dyer need after this long without sound.

Here is the list of what I have done to try and fix it.

1. Uninstalling the driver from the device manager and then reboot to get it back, when rebooted, the installer says it failed to install.

2. Upgrading the driver, when I do this, it says I have already updated to the latest driver when in fact the sound doesn't work.

3. Sometimes when I try to upgrade the driver again it gives me another message saying cannot install, it may have been corrupted or missing(code39).

4. System restore

5. Uninstalled the driver from add/remove programs. All that did was remove "Realtek" from the sentence and it just left "High Definition Audio in the device manager.

6. Downloaded and installed once again the Realtek's driver from Realtek's site, so now "Realtek is back with "High Definition Audio" part.

7. I have upgraded to SP2 a couple days ago as said before, no luck.

8. I've tried rolling back the driver and then upgrading it and no luck.

9. I've went to the BIOS and there isn't even anything about Realtek anything except the boot order but that's not related to my problem.

10. I've typed in "services.msc" in run, and then went to "Windows Audio" and tried to enable it. But it was already enabled and set to automatic.

11. I went into safe mode and done virus and malware scans, no infections.

12. I have went into the registry and deleted the upper and lower filters because of code 39. No luck

13. I have done the "fix it for me" thing from microsoft and no luck.

Please help if you have any other suggestions than what I have put, or just a hunch, please reply....I would be so greatful, it seems that nothing has worked. Microsoft said that this happens if I just came out of sleep mode or hibernation mode which I do frequently, but I wasn't home when this happened. My cousins and bro was playing the computer when in the middle of playing they said it stopped working. My bro said it was working when he was playing it and then when it was my cousin's turn to play he said it wasn't working.

Try to use the Driver Sweeper to clean the system from the leftovers of the previous driver version. Next reinstall the current version of the Realtek driver or if you have got the original one which came with the computer. It might help fix the problem with audio. Note that, not always the newest driver versions are better.

Tried it man but it don't work.....When I click the properties of the sound driver and I see the Device Status, it says...."Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Uninstall the driver, wipe the remainings then reboot the PC, and let Windows load its own driver and see how it works. Get the fresh Realtek driver next and try to install it again.
I think, someone will have any solution to this problem, if so let us know.

I have tried multiple times uninstalling the driver and re-installing after re-boot and also getting realtek drivers from the website as well. What do you mean by "Wipe the remainings"? Like click the box that says delete the software for this device or what ever for when you uninstall the driver?

Use the driver cleaner that I wrote about in the previous post.

You can also try to uninstall old or even all drivers as follow after using cleaner.
Open the Command Prompt as the Administrator. You can also click Start and type cmd into the search box and run it as the administrator, then type SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1 in the command prompt window and
click enter, next type devmgmt.msc and click enter. In the Device Manager window, click View and select "Show hidden devices", then click "Sound, Video and Game controllers", you will see all device drivers including ones that are not currently installed over there. If you see the device with "light-misty-greyish" icon there, right click it and choose Uninstall. Close all windows, in the cmd window type exit and hit enter to close it. Reboot the computer.

You want me to uninstalled all of those?

My Computer

Yea, except for the Dazzle DVD Recorder. However its up to you, the Dazzle driver is here, Dazzle DVC 100 DVD Recorder Driver, PCLEUSB2x32.

The remaining drivers you can uninstall, they are not needed right now. Windows will
reinstall any one if needed after rebooting. I would go even further and would get rid of this Realtek driver, too. After restarting computer Vista should install the generic driver, check if you have sound, next you can install the Realtek driver. Here is the link, Audio Realtek Driver v6.0.1.5648 Vistax32x64 for Acer Aspire 4330.

Btw, here you will find all driver for the Acer Aspire 4330 4330Z Windows XP and Vista.

I hope this will help

This is what happened after reboot without installing any Realtek HD audio drivers or any Acer drivers.

EDIT: I installed the Realtek drivers again and still nothing.

I'm sorry it didn't work out. I'm starting to run out of the ideas what's the cause of the problem with your sound, except, you have broken on board sound card or the registry is somehow corrupt.

Use Vista Backup And Restore Center to "Repair" Windows using System Restore. It won't repair your sound, but it will bring everything back to how it was before you uninstalled the drivers. Choose at least two restore point back, let say select the point created yesterday to roll the OS in time. When you do this, all drivers should be there.

Later, I will try to get any solution, so let you know. Once more, I'm sorry, I couldn't help more.:(

Edit: I forgot about this two, try this two links Problems with sound and audio or no sound
and Hardware devices not detected or not working

I've tried system restore like a day after it stopped working. I've done almost everything, except trying to get the restore CD from Acer. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it, but either my sound card is shot or something is corrupted and not working right. I think I may have to get it repaired as a last resort. If you happen to have any more suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

Well, my only suggestion right now is to check with Linux whether you sound card is fine, if not the best way to get the sound back is to reformat the drive and install fresh Vista.

To check the sound you will have to download the ISO with live Linux OS, for example the Ubuntu. When you do this burn ISO into the CD and boot your machine from it. It's the live CD so you don't have to install Ubuntu. Ubuntu will boot and run from this CD, if you card is OK you should hear the welcome sound during booting Linux. Also the Linux disc is useful when you will have to rescue your files and data if the Windows doesn't run. It's the one of many ways to rescue the data from the drive.

So I was playing Counter Strike online the other day and my name is "XenoChrist (NO sound vistaBlows" And this other guy was chatting to me in the chat box and said that "hey xenochrist, try different random sound drivers and it could work, cuz that's how I got my sound working."

So since I have Realtek, You think I could try other random drivers? like sigmatel? or any other ones out there?

I've spent the last week on the trail of a different bug (DPCs), but since I've read so much stuff about audio lately... I read of one fix where the thing to do is uninstall all Realtek drivers, throw 'em away and empty the recycle bin. Then go to Device Manager and scan for hardware changes. Windows should find the disabled audio controller and apply its basic driver. Then right click on the sound card (in Device Manager view) to bring up properties - under the "driver" tab, click on "update driver," and Windows should the necessary Realtek driver at the Microsoft update site, and away you go...

So I've heard. But like I said, I'm hunting different game; and in my trials of the past couple of weeks, I have learned much to dismay - like how many different places Windows hides information about configuration... so after uninstalling the driver, you may want to clean and defrag the registry, and use a cleaner to delete the contents of the numerous temp files lurking about. What sometimes happens is an old config file is hiding in the bushes somewhere, and jacking up the new config... I now use Ashampoo' s uninstaller to monitor registry changes, but I'm sure there's some freeware apps that perform a similar function...

Oh, btw... I have no fear of my registry, but you might want to set a restore point before making any changes in there. :)

No Audio Device

Try this: Go into the BIOS and under AUDIO change selection AUTO to selection ENABLED. They both mean the samething but they do not work the same. LET ME KNOW. I could not get sound from my HDMI and this solved the problem.

My Computer

Thanks. Already did that, but I appreciate input. Shortly after posting here, my Windows Update found another Realtek update, and since installing that, I seem to have no problems... (keeping the fingers crossed)
