I see that this is a common issues, but I have gone through all the old threads, and none of those solutions are working for me. I've been having a lot of issues trying to get my microphone working, and so far no matter what I try, it has not worked.
First of all, my hardware:
Windows Vista x64 with Service pack 2.
Creative Fatality Headset w/ Microphone
e-VGA 650i ultra with onboard Realtek HD sound.
I have also tested this with a Audigy SE soundcard, and using Windows 7 x64.
My Microphone does work on my laptop running Vista x32.
Right now I took my sound card out to make sure that wasn't a hardware problem. However, even with the most recent vista drivers
for my realtek, my microphone does not work. With my soundcard and the most recent Vista x64 Creative drivers, my soundcard does not work.
All other audio functions work properly.
So so far what I have tried.
Running on Windows 7 with Audigy SE and updated drivers
Running on Windows 7 with onboard Realkteh HD and updated Drivers
Running on Vista x64 with Audigy SE and updates drivers
Running on Vista x64 with onboard Realtek HD and updated drivers.
This would lead me to believe its the microphone, but it does work on my Vista laptop perfectly running Vista x32.
The microphone is not muted, it has mic boost and the volume up. The microphone is not disabled.
I have tried it in both the pink(microphone) and blue (spidif) ports of both on-board and soundcard.
I need the knowledge of the wise tech gurus to solve my problem, somebody help!
Also my sound is not disabled in the Bios.
