Soundcard isssues

I currently run my computer on Vista Ultimate 64 and today something went wrong with my sound.
I noticed it when I tried to play music in Winamp and I got this message that no sound card was installed, same thing goes for Spotify. I've checked my device manager but it says that my sound card is working with no issues. If I go to the control panel under the sound part it says no device installed. I've tried to uninstall the drivers and update with new ones but the problem persist.
I have no clue on how to fix this, any help would be appreciated.

we need you to fill in your system specs (lower left corner in your posts) so we know what hardware you have.

you may want to try un-installing the sound driver then letting windows find ot for you.
