Vista - Crackling Sound - Audio

I have a HP Pavilion dv4 1120us, ever since I got it the sound has been making a popping noise. I've already gotten it replaced once and still does the same thing. I think it might be the motherboard but I'm not too sure. Help please.

does it make the sound all the time? can you boot into safe mode by hitting F8 repeatedly while booting. does the sound stio?

Yes, it does it all the time and I've tried safe mode

Correct sound card driver? what model sound card/chip?

Would you happen to have an HP, DV4?

Yes, it is a DV4 1120us

I have been researching in in google and found this page. Same problem same model, they have had to send the computer back to hp. its here Re: dv4-1028us notebook HDMI audio popping and crackling - Notebook PC Sound and Audio - HP Support Forum . this is HP support forum and the problem stems from the audio and another device.

Thank you so much, I'll try the safe mode start-up again and if that don't work I'll contact HP

Did this do this from the start or just recently? If I read the HP site correctly its a conflict between the audio and a broadcom driver. before you send it back try to re-install that driver. Might work, might not but it cant hurt
