I have been having problems trying to get my sound to run through the speakers in my laptop (HP Palilion dv6) instead of my headset. It started with the last service pack (Windows Vista Service Pack 2 KB948465) update and every time I try to change it from my headset to my speakers I get 'Windows common shell Dll is not responding'. I have checked for updates on the device driver, uninstalled it so it had to re-intall itself, run a registry repair program (Error Fix) and even tried going back to a restore point before the pack, then uninstalled and reinstalled the service pack. Nothing worked.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated as having all my sound competing against Ventrillo is really starting to get to me.
