Hi!
I have an ASUS G70 S, with a Realtek ALC888S soundcard, running with Vista 64x.
Im running the sound through HDMI to a Sony STR-DG820 amplifier.
The Realtek soundcard is supposed be 7.1, and I only get 5.1 to the amplifier, but that's not my problem:
When playing movies, the 5.1 system is working properly (I get sound from the speakers and from the subwoofer).
When playing music though, all the speakers are working, but the subwoofer is dead. According to the amp, the sub is playing, but I can't get any sound from it...
I watch movies in TotalMedia Theater. In preferences for the Realtek I can allow other programs to take control over the soundcard, and I guess that's what TM Theater does... Somehow I can't get any musicplayer to do the same thing (i.e. Spotify, Media PLayer etc.)..
I have some pictures attached. The first picture ("2") shows my Realtek HDMI Output Balance, and I have drawn a circle around the subwoofer channel (nr. 4). That's the one not playing.
The second picture ("3") show the configuration. Shouldn't there be a 5.1 or 7.1 option to choose in the list to the right?
I hope you understand my problem, and if you need more pictures, don't hesitate to ask! Thanks in advance!
