'no audio output device installed' but more

so i have a older hp pavillion that had xp on it and after geting a mean viris i had to reboot the os so i figured id upgrade a bit to vista alls good exsept the 'no audio output device installd' now i want on line and saw this is a common problem and there are sulutions but when i go to 'device manager' and look for the 'sound and game controler' tab its not there so if someone could help id be greatly appreceated so i dont turn to one of those vista haters lol

See whether you can find the audio driver for your model PC on the HP website. Else go to the website of your sound device manufacturer. If you don`t know what this is, type msinfo32 into the start/search field and hit Enter. Then expand "Components" and go to "Sound Device". That should tell you the manufacturer.
