so i just got internet to my computer after almost 2 years of it being out of comission, it still worked and we were able to play games like solitaire and the sims but there was no internet hooked up to it. it installed all kinds of updates and one night i was listening to music via wmp and the next day i went to listen and it said "no audio output device is installed"

i tried updating the device and it said that my driver was up to date.
i also tried uninstalling it and rebooting my computer and that didn't work.
i don't see any error messages in the device manager, i clicked the icon with the little magnifying glass and nothing showed up.

i don't know what else i can do, besides take my computer and throw it into traffic.
i have alot of music on this computer that i listen to on a daily basis and would hate to have to switch it all to a new computer, or even buy a new computer for that matter just because my speakers aren't working.

they're realtek high definition audio btw, that seems like something i should prolly mention.

can someone please try and help me?
thank you.

would be better yes if you delete the driver and reinstall it.. look for the latest version and check if you do not have a ny windows update pending..

it worked by deleting and then then when i rebooted the problem was resolved.
i didn't think to delete it before, i don't know all that much about computers and didn't wanna delete any vital software.
thank you so much for helping me!! =)
