Hi, mic stopt working after i installed vista sp2.
1) Tried both old and new sounddrivers for my X-FI SB card.
1.5) Did also use driver sweeper to be sure old drivers were removed.
2) then i enabled motherbord soundcard, tried both old and new drivers there too. (Realtek). Even took out my real soundcard during this test... no luck.
3) Uninstalled Vista sp2, didnt help either problem remain.
4) Installed it again and tried the drivers once more, even updated bios and chipset.
5) Installed apps for the soundcards, tried most combinations nothing there either.
6) Tried that odd vista-fix program, wasent very useful either.
7) Searched the web for fixes, didnt find much at all more then the classic stuff that i did before i even started testing drivers and such.
Problem is that vista finds everything, and from vistas stand of point it should work. The mic just wont input the sound or something :S, tried another mic same problem. Its an old headset im using and older mic with the classic jacks rather then USB. Dunno if this is the problem?
I could reinstall vista from scratch, but frankly i doubt it will fix anything. Been trying to fix this for about 3 days now (not 24/7) but still very annoying. I want win7 since vista is a joke but still rather annoying spending the money to fix vista for this old comp, since i will get a new one next year. So what to do?
