Everytime I download an .mp3 file or any file, this pops up, "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

Also, When i download and open a picture file, this pops up, "Photo Gallery can't display this picture because it is an empty file." ...I just downloaded it from the net and it's already empty on every file??

I NEED URGENT HELP!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Thank you!

Shut down computer. Remove power cord, and battery if it is a mobile computer. Press and hold power button for 90 seconds. Replug all power sources. Boot up tapping the F8 key repeatedly and select "Last Known Good Configuration"

-When did this issue start happening? Did this happen after you installed a certain program, or anything along the lines of making changes to your computer? If not, try resetting your router and/or modem, by unplugging the power for 10 sec and replug.. Could be releated to packet loss as you said these is only on files you download?-

Try reinstalling Network Adaptor drivers as well if the above solutions don't work.

    Main Machine. Just upgraded my RAM to 8GB. Next task will be to get a new processor for this machine ( 9650 was for my secondary machine )
This happened when I scanned my computer for viruses and I think some files might be removed, I gave this laptop to the store I bought it in and they gave me a new Vista system and a new hard drive. This is still happening since I got the laptop back from the shop. :sa:

Thanks for the help anyway Timmah. Might just give it to a computer repair guy.
