Good morning. This is Mike Biasin from Wells Maine. I was reading an expired forum thread about problems with the recording meter on vista. My problem is that the line in and stereo mix with no audio going into them have a volum meter that is filled to the top. All other recording devices work fine. The line-in and stereo mix worked fine before. I've only noticed this problem over the last 3 days. I have a new business so I need these devices working properly. I've tried all of the following.
1. Altering the levels in the device properties window.
2. In the enhancements tab, I've tried adding and removing checkmarks in the DC Offset, Immediate mode, and disable sound effects.
3. Uninstalling and reinstalling the soundcard drivers
4. Tried system restore but an error happened during restore so it was cancelled.

PC: HP Pavillion with 4GB RAM, Quadcore Processor, 500GB hard drive.
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium.
