RealTek surround 5.1 - lost speaker sounds

Recently I noticed my sound volume was kind of low even when I raised it to 100%.

When I checked Control Panel ....... Sounds and also Device Manager, the front left & right work. But the center speaker & side left & right don't work anymore (the subwoofer never has so I assumed it was not installed).

I don't know what to do. I've tried to update the driver but it says I have the most recent one and it's all working.

I have an Acer 6930G 64-bit laptop with Vista Home Premium Version ..... 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002.

Can someone please help?!

Hello Gia45,
Go to Device Manager and un-install the sound driver, reboot and re-install.
You will need to go to your makers site for the new drivers, while your there, update the chipset drivers too.
Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.
