Left and Right Audio Swapped

I just noticed that the audio from the left comes from the right speaker and vice-versa. This happens randomly and the problem suddenly disappears. The problem is happening again and I don't know how to swap the two speakers. A restart will temporarily fix the problem but later on it gets swapped again. I can't switch the position of the speakers because this is a laptop. This gets very annoying when I'm playing games such as CS. Anyway to solve this?

This is quite possibly a driver issue. Have you got the latest audio driver installed? What is the make and full model number of your laptop?

Does it happen only in a particlular program, or it occur everywhere? It could be the fault in some specific program settings then.

It happens at random times, during random programs

Oh, if that's the case, it's something completely different from what I had in mind.

Just try reinstalling the sound card/speaker drivers. It may just do the job.
