    Speakers Disabled?

I am having a very frustrating problem . My computer seems to think that my speakers are disabled or turned off, not muted. When I go to where they are turned on, it says that they are enabled and working. My computer is disagreeing with its self. I've attached a picture.

Can anyone please help me? This is becoming very annoying, not having sound.

Click on the speaker icon in the taskbar that the bottom arrow is pointing to.
Click once on the speaker icon in the popup.

    Edit:
It looks like the speakers are merely muted.

Use Speccy or similar to find who made your sound card.
Speccy - System Information - Free Download

Best way is to go to the sound card manufactures site and download the latest driver to your desktop. Then,

Go to Start, type Device Manager, Expand the Sound,Video and Game Controllers, On the entry that is there (Realtek) Right Click,Properties, update driver.

When it asks if you would like to go on line or browse your computer, pick browse and go to the file you downloaded earlier.

Once we know you have the latest driver installed it will be easier to help you.

@ardneh no they aren't muted, if they were the little logo over the volume thing (bottom arrow) would be a circle with a slash through it.

@ilkefree Did exactly what you said, and I am not sure if this is an improvement or not, but here is what it looks like now.

In that box you show right click on the speaker icon and do you get the options test, configure, at the bottom is properties, Go to Advanced.
Check here to see that it is set to 24Bit,48000Hz Studio quality.

How about go to sound and then check the mixer or maybe you pressed a button on your keyboard.
