    It's .... rundll32.exe ...... ONE WORD
    system32 ........ ONE WORD

Just for the heck of it, would you mind try this ?......
Start > in the search box, type system32 > press Enter key > in the System32 window, top right, in the search box, type rundll32.exe
Does the system find it ?

Is it happening only for youtube? or anything with IE?
Does it work fien when playing music from Windows media player..

Open youtube and on the bottom right hand corner of your bottom toolbar click on the volume icon and open "mixer" check if "youtube" is not set to "mute" by mistake..

    Hello largal,

    Welcome to Vista forums.

Have you tried re-installing the drivers for your speakers?

You can do this through your Device Manager.

One of the first things I tried was reloading the divers..No change..I have sound on the internal speakers and it works fine on any application that has sound. the only time I can get sound to come out of the externals is when I do a test..
