Could you upload a Picture of the Error you are getting for us by using the Snipping tool

Go to Start>Accessories>Snipping Tool

And then Drag over the Error Window and Upload it as an Attachment

Many Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,

Not a blue screen instead when I restarted it it said unable to match activation key for vista please contact HP.... Now it's all good.... I have restored it back to factory settings..... Just need ur advice whether should I try again installing service pack 2 or should I just ignore it.... I only needed it to install Internet explorer 9...

Cheers

My Computer

IE 9 Is in it's Beta Stages so I wouldn't use it unless your System is Perfect

I would Install the Updates in Small Steps at a time some Updates do not go well with each other when installed and Cause Problems Make sure you have Service pack 1 and have installed all the Updates before moving onto Service Pack 2

Hope This Helps,
Josh

Hi,

I had someting like this happen to me with a windows driver update!

The main difference to what you seem to be experiencing is my sound device was active in the bios but lost in the system (Not there in wndows) a HP system too.

I would suggest you vist the HP website & download the original drivers for your operating system & version of Windows.

I had to "force active" in the bios to get my system up & running again (After a fresh install. Oh well, hind sight is wounderful!)
