How to disable the QL volume control ?

Hello again,

I searched and searched via our search option on how to disable the quick launch feature on my laptop. It is underlit by blue led(s) on the upper right hand corner of my keyboard.

I saw some stuff with a google search, but don't really trust some of the solutions, one of them being to actually do an invasive hardware unplug!, no I am not joking..

Anyway, our forum said it was archived.....this one QLB has been a real pain for me ever since I bought this machine years ago.

Control panel?

Thanks in advance,

Alex

Hi Alex
Having windows 7, I think that this will work on Vista

Right click the taskbar and select properties. Select the notification tab, then untick volume control

Rich,

Very interesting,

Vista must be a tad different.. when I unticked the volume control, yes indeed, it did disable the volume control, but permanently leaving the familiar grey semitransparent rectangle, loss of cursor and a few other small do-dads so I just rebooted.:)

Also, the speaker icon disappeared on my bottom ribbon but leaving theRealtek HD Audio Manager icon, with the usual stuff, green Microsoft protection status,WLAN icon, etc., Just the usual small correctable settings.:)

Well my friend, lets worry about this later...I am dead tired, long day...Rich you have a good morning, see you soon..:)

Regards,
Alex

Rich,

Real quick,
The reason for my original post was of course of the rectangle that took about 12 -15 seconds to go away when I inadvertently touched the sensor..Now the QLB seems too be responding immediately. I'm thinking it was a remnant that possibly did not get updated, a bit of corruption, or whatever.

Bottom line is, I can now touch the control and have immediate control, ergo problem solved...Humm..I'll mess around with it tomorrow and give you a up-date....

Now, Good night for sure this time!;)

Thanks for telling me. What a nice way to start the morning. Usually I wake up and see all the problems that are still not solved. Thanks for everything.
