Re: headphone problms

Try to un-install your sound drivers and update them online once again. This problem normally appears when you are using Realtek sound drivers. With Soundmax audio drivers that are updated by default when you browse online your headphones would work perfectly right.

What you shud try if you are not using Soundmax as your default audio drivers:
1. Uninstall drivers present on your system and boot up your machine once more.
2. On next loggin make sure you are online as your vista will detect a foreign device and it will try to update it automatically.
3. If the above happens give it time to search for a correct drivers for your system.

Hey Jason, welcome back.

As manyenya has mentioned above, realtek sounds like the audio device in question, do you have a control panel for the sound device? Not just the in-built windows application, but a secondary application to control tones and output settings?

This is where you would need to look, my audio device uses audio jack detection and when something is plugged in, it asks me what the device I plugged in is and sets it appropriately, you simply need to set the jack to auto-detect or set it manually to headset/headphones, hope this helps.
