Audio Output switching Off

Hey all,

My sound/audio output works fine whenever I start the laptop. I've noticed when I start Itunes, shut it down and close the laptop into sleep mode; when it wakes up there's no audio.

I have to reboot in order to get sound back. I can visually see the green sound audio reading in playback devices but no sound.

Is Itunes isolating my audio output engine somehow?

Drivers are up to date.

Any help much appreciated, cheers

Hello Andrew, welcome to the forum.

Try this:

Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Adminstrative Tools->Services

Then locate in the list of services "Windows Audio". Open this service

If this service is showing with Startup, set it to Disabled then Select "Automatic" from the drop down list then hit apply. Then click the "Start" button.

If this service is not showing with Startup type set to Manual then Select "Automatic" from the drop down list then hit apply. Then click the "Start" button.

Next Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices then select the Volume Tab then put a tick in the box marked "Place Volume Icon in the Task Bar" then click apply.

Wish you good luck. Hope this work for you.

Thanks.
Arvin

Cheers Arvin,

Yeah it was already on 'Automatic' for Startup.

Then I went to Control Panel--- Sounds and Audio Devices and I don't have a 'Volume' Tab .... just Playback, Recording and Sounds.

Any ideas?

Cheers
