Hello everyone,



My mic is not working, and I believe to know the reason: it is not "registered" in the sound panel, under the "hardware and sound" section in the control panel. A windows troubleshoot has told me the same ("The selected audio device is currently disabled in Windows.")

Now, what I don't know is how to enable it. I had hoped it would be enabled automatically when I plug in my mic, but this was not the case. Could anyone help me out with this?

Have you installed the drivers for it yet?

Hi, not sure if this will help or not , but, your question made me want to test my microphone, So, i plugged it in, got a little pop up that a device was installed in the Audio Manager, so, i went to test it for sound recording. Nothing, nada, check this, i wiggled it and the connection worked, i apparently had not securely plugged it in.
Did another sound test and got sound .

I would open my audio manager and check settings for microphone at this point , as you have securely plugged it in.

Does that microphone work if installed on another computer ? I am wondering if the mic is faulty or not ?

I don't know of any hardware tests that can be run from computer. A repair shop could bench test it for you, but. best bet , is go to Wallyworld ( Walmart ) or some such place and grab something that fits your needs. Sorry, but, maybe one of the other Helpers has a solution.
