I have just reinstalled the operating system of my Dell Inspiron 1545 after it kept crashing for what appeared to be no reason at all. The crashing problem has gone, it seems, but now the audio is stuttering. It doesn't matter if I am watching something in a media player, on the internet, or just listening to a song. Every so often, the audio stutters.
I have tried the "Disable Enhancements," to no avail. The driver has also been uninstalled and reinstalled, which did nothing. I tried disabling all of the startup services and the audio seemed to be fine when I disabled the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. Could that be causing the problem?

In regards to RAID, I have absolutely no idea. I don't think so... but I'm really not sure.

I figured out that I do not have RAID. Also, I tried the hard drive diagnostic and it says that everything is fine.

Hello shhhhharlotte,
I can't think of any other solution to your problem apart from leaving the Intel Matrix Storage Manager disabled. I don't think it would be a good idea to remove it because I'm not entirely sure what will happen to be honest. If you don't have a RAID setup (you would know if you had one, it takes a while to set up), then there isn't any point having this software running

All right. Are you sure there won't be any negative effects, despite the fact that I don't have a RAID setup? On the Intel website, it mentioned some things about battery life being prolonged and other benefits. Is that only if you have a RAID setup?

From what i read of that service, you can safely disable it and not worry about it. If in the future you set up a Raid type system , then you could always enable it. Go ahead and then post back if this is solving the stutter issue please.
