Sound not working
I am not a tech type.
Was using headphones with USB connection until dog ate them. There was no sound from computer speakers. Got new headphones with mic with regular plug for front of computer.
I go to sound: Device= Digital Output Device (HDMI); Applications= Windows Sound, CEC Main, Internet Explorer.
Sound => Playback = Digital Output Device (HDMI) Default
High Def Audio Device
Digital Output Device (SPDIF)
Sigma Tel High Def Audio CODEC
All show working properly.
Computer is Gateway Model: W6501.
What do I do next?

Hello, open up your Audio Manager , then open up the Sound Manager , double check settings .

How do I find audio and voice manager. I go to device manager and see sound and video and game controlers.

For me, i have a red icon in my task bar, do you have that ? If not, go to start button, in the search type Audio Manager , then see if it shows it in the results .

Don't see red icon in task bar and nothing shows up under search

Try restarting computer, then plug in those new headphones. see if it detects them and installs drivers .

Sorry, I am out of the country now and don't have head phones with me. The computer speakers should work though.

Well, kinda hard to trouble shoot this without them. Let us know when they are with you. I have no idea what to do at this point.
