Vista - Anti-virus For Vista 64 bit

I'm new to the forum and would like to say hello to everyone. I also have just finshed installing Vista Home Premium 64 bit as a dual boot along with my XP Pro. I'm keeping XP for now so that some of my older games can still be played. What I would like to know is could someone recommend a 64 bit anti-virus program for me ? After reading through the forum it appears most people don't like the free verisons so I'm asking for your recommendations at this point. I've been using Avast with my XP but I'm not sure it's good enough. Thanks for your help and advice.

I've been happily using Kaspersky, but with the latest build (7.0.125) I've noticed a drastic increase in system resource usage. It seems NOD32 has a pretty good reputation around here. You can always use trial versions to see which works best on your rig.

Thanks for the reply . I take it Nod32 is not free, and what is your opinion on free vs. paid for programs?

Thanks , Avast is what I use with XP now. I guess I just wanted to make sure that since I'm running a new OS that I was up to par on it. I appreciate all the help . You folks have a really nice forum here.

I wonder if I could get away with putting AVG on the partition with Vista and leave Avast on the XP partition ? Would this cause a conflict ? If not then I'd have two defenses of protecting my pc.

You can also get a 64bit optimised version.

I have been using AVG Free Edition 7.5 simply because it is light on resources, works well, and I have it configured in a way that makes it completely transparent for day-to-day usage.

Im usin eset smart security its pretty good, uses low ram and cpu, has antivirus antispyware personal firewall and anti spam protections.
