| Newbie Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Wipe File Permission I have a drive that has been through several installs of Windows and unfortunately has become very messed up in terms of file permissions. Sometimes I can't access files, even though I gave myself ownership and access to the files recursively. I've been over this many times and tried everythign and I still can't get myself to always have full access to every file. (This was a problem in XP too, not just vista, though I'm currently on Vista Ultimate x64) Now, what I want to do is COMPLETELY wipe ALL file permissions, and then recursively set myself as owner and have full access to everything. This drive is for my media only (audio, video, etc) so changing permissions shouldn't mess with any installed apps or anything. |
