should I disable windows firewall

I can't remember why I disabled my windows firewall, but now i'm having a few doubts with my decision. I haven't had any viruses or security leaks for a very long time. I've used a couple of anti-viruses and firewalls, but the ones i'm sticking with are: comodo and Nod32.

so, basically, what are the pros and cons of disabling windows firewall and are there any real risks, if i'm using a third party firewall anyways..

Re: should I disable windows firewall

Hello nelswanio,

Welcome to the forums.

It is not a good idea to run 2 firewalls. They may cause problems. I have noticed that if my 3rd party firewall is on, then the windows firewall turns itself off. If I turn off the 3rd party firewall, windows firewall will automatically be turned on. As long as one good firewall is running you should be good to go.

Hope this helps.
Gary

currently running a netgear router and the windoze firewall, had a third party one installed, but dropped fps on eve online from 150 to 30 and back upto 150 when it got removed

if not got a decent router, then u might need a third party firewall
