system configuration modifications

while trying to load zone alarm antispyware I keep getting an error that says "you do not have access to make the required system modifications". "Please rerun from an administrators account". I have clicked on "run as administor" and compatibility settings but that install error keeps popping up. other programs install fine.

No , That message pops up right after I click on the zone alarm exe icon. It pops up and I cant get past the error message.

Hi Nickoli Tessla,

You will need to install this while logged on to a administrator account. It will not work from inside a Standard account.

If you are in an administrator account, then right click on the exe file and click Run as administrator to see if that will help.

Iam useing an administraor account it is the only account on this machine . I have tried right clicking and tried 'run as administrator' but the same error tells me to use an admin account,which I am useing. thanks

Ok, here is the latest. Iwent to the zone alarm forum site and followed the instructions. Remember Iam trying to install zone alarms spyware program. I already have zone alarm firewll installed. After I uninstalled the fire wall I tried to install the spyware program again and it worked this time! The error that was popping up was gone. Kool! But, as the program was installing a window popped up stateing that the zone spyware program has known driver compatability's with Vista! It said to check with CheckPoint for an updated version for Vista. Hummm? Well ya fixed the administrator problem! Thanks loads. But now I have another problem. I mean we! Thanks again.

What version of ZoneAlarm firewall are you using? Only version 7.1.248 is. Use the update feature in ZoneAlarm to update it. See:

If it still does not work, then I would recommend to dump it and use the free COMODO Firewall Pro and Spybot Search & Destroy (anti-spyware) instead. It's what I use and I have not had any problems using them. You can download them from the link posted by Ted above.
