Web of Trust add-on

Has anyone tried Web of Trust? It's a rating system for websites that's on Mozilla's recommended list. Works with IE too.

Re: Web of Trust add-on

Using it now - since it is end user based (primarily) you have to take a lot of what users rate with a grain of salt. For example, many user have rated BroSoft, a downloader hoster for app developers, as a bad site because of a particular problem they may have had with *one* program - not understanding that this site only hosts the download for the app developer and has nothing else to do with the development of the app that they used.

For more accurate results I'd go with FinJan and SiteHound as well (and possibly RobotGenius).

Re: Web of Trust add-on

Thank you johngalt. I have downloaded it and so far I like it. They have a way to customize it for a higher level of protection. With kids using the computer, I think that will be useful. We have had "incidents" of porn sites popping up so maybe this will help curtail that problem.

Good luck, and be sure to take a look at some of the others - SH, for example, has both a free and a paid version - bu even with the free version (IIRC) you can set a password that will not allow viewing restricted sites without the password...
