Are AVAST and COMODO condusive.

Hi I'm a newbi on this board this is my first post. I just recently upgraded to a Windows Vista Home 64 bit. My old system was Windows xp. I found this board as I was trying to get the Norton security that came on my pc to uninstall. The info on this board is priceless. I was able to get rid of the Norton and have now installed AVAST. My question is should I also run COMODO firewall or just use the Vista firewall. And if I run the Comodo should I disarm the VF. Any input would be helpfull.
Again many thanks on the Norton issue, I was pleased to find out that I was not the only one who could not uninstall that pos.

Hello rmarti and welcome to Vista forums!

Read thru this thread and see some of what "Chappy" has to say.

WOW, no NATIVE x64 antivirus..

Keep us informed.

Re: Are AVAST and COMODO condusive.

Thanks for that, there is some good stuff in that thread. But my question has more to do with Avast's compatibility with a firewall program such as comodo. Should I run both? Or just use the built in one.

Re: Are AVAST and COMODO condusive.

Hello again.

Alot of us around here are running both Comodo and Avast with no problems.
W. Firewall is useless.

Be sure to go in "Control Panel", "Security Center" and disable it before you install Comodo.

Avast Users-
You are aware that Avast by Alwil fails to detect virus/malware in Vista sp 1 right?
1 false positive and 19 malware misses.
