Vista - RPC causes Reboot in Vista Home Premium 64 Bit

after googling this problem, it seems pretty old, but im messed up anyway.
The computer automatically reboots after a minute or two, and there is nothing I can do to change the "Remote Procedure Call" settings in Services.msc to cancel reboot if failure.

Is there any other way I may handle this ?

I did receive a message from a friend on MSN this evening, but I never open unknown links at MSN !!

Please help me, I would like to enjoy my new HTPC instead of troubleshooting

Hi, diy mekkern, and welcome to the forums.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode so you can change those settings you are talking about?

Im unable to change these settings in safemode... :-(
There were 2 RPC....... services, but only one of them i was able to change the restart settings in.
It rebooted a few times more yesterday after the changes, but not as quick as before the changes.....
So then i installed AVG and the computer has been on all night. Ill check some more after work.

Finally i formated the computer again, and all works fine, for now ....
