Live OneCare has quit working- HELP! (64bit)

I just bought my computer. (hp pavillion Elite 64 bit). Windows LiveOne Care worked great for June and July and then sometime in August it just quit. The computer tech guy at Future Shop (...luckily I also bought a 3 year warranty) said that EVERYBODY was having trouble. He said that when Microsoft instituted their new parental controls everything kinda crashed for them. He said that Microsoft was working their buns off to fix the problem. When I went to see him a week later he said the the problem was fixed for the Liveone Care users who have 32bit....but they were still working on the 64 bit problem..

He claims there is nothing for me to do - the problem lies with Microsoft. I have been unable to connect to LiveOne Care through the icon on my desktop, and my windows security alert is now THE RED X because I can't get any updates. (It has been over 4 weeks for me now!)

Is my computer technician guy right, or is there another problem. Should I look to a new security system (I'm quite new at computers...I mostly use it for making home movies for my family).

Thank you for reading my REALLY LENGTHY lament...
Please help!...or at least confirm that I haven't lost my marbles!!!

That guy is wrong on something Live OneCare does not have parental controls. Parental Controls are built in to Vista, not Live OneCare.

You may want to uninstall Live OneCare and then reinstall it. This might straighten the program, and at the same time it will download and install Live OneCare version 2.5, which came out in June.
