Re: Bitdefender ?

Hi, wraith, and welcoem to the forums.

By default, the only security product that comes with Vista is Windows Defender. Bit Defender is a *completely different* antimalware product. If you didn't install it, someone else did.

However, before we go this far, you need to realize that saying things like

does not help us. We need exact details on what is being said. Same for the message you receive afterward when you send the error report. There should be a link you can click to see the report online, if you provide that it would help as well.

However, going back to the problem - as long as it is *BitDefender* and not Windows Defender, you can disable BitDefender by running the program and disabling it.

Re: Bitdefender ?

Having screen shots and documented proof of what the error message is will go a long way to help troubleshoot it. Of course we *need* those, but obviously I ma hoping that, all the same, you don't see the error again....

Re: Bitdefender ?

To be sure you havent got Bitdefender registry entries anywhere you could try the official BD uninstall program from their site...

Re: Bitdefender ?

To be sure that you can uninstall BitDefender from your computer you should download the latest uninstall tool from here.
But I think that is not the case here, because there were problems in the past regarding this error.

Also if you're a game tester I would advise you to use the GameSafe edition of BitDefender.
